June is off to a hot start

Auditor Nicole Galloway talks about fighting dark money in government

Still Riding the High of a HUGE Victory in Senate District 17

The hard work of countless volunteers and staff members from all across the state payed off in a huge way last Tuesday when Lauren Arthur won the special election for a Clay County State Senate seat by 19 points, a number nobody could have predicted.

But maybe we should have. With a staggering number of voter contacts and focus on substantive issues, Lauren Arthur was the better choice and voters responded.  This race will serve as a model of how we will win in competitive districts all over the state but it takes a major effort from volunteers doing their part to make phone calls, write postcards, knock doors, and stretch their donations as far as they can.

Congratulations to Lauren and all of the great volunteers who made this win possible!

The 31st Annual Truman Gala: Another Giant Success!

Last Saturday was a fantastic gathering of Democrats at Arrowhead Stadium where we heard inspiring remarks from State Auditor Nicole Galloway, Senator Claire McCaskill, Senator Catherine Cortez Masto of Nevada, and Congressman Emanuel Cleaver.  The vibrant gala was a great time to bring all manner of Democrats together in one room to remind us that we will be united in our charge of victory in November. Final numbers will be calculated this week, but it looks like this was our most successful event ever!  Special thanks to our brothers and sisters from the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers as our presenting sponsor.

Field Offices Opening - Supplies Needed

Senator McCaskill and the Democratic Party's coordinated campaign have opened many field offices across the state and more are planned later in the summer.  These local offices will be buzzing with activity between now and the November election and the main points for volunteers to get put to work.  Here in Jackson County, offices have been secured at 3600 Broadway in KC, 221 Lexington Ave on the Independence Square and at 291 and 50 Highways in Lee's Summit.  But for these offices to function while staying on a campaign budget, they need supplies donated from people like you.  Just about anything can be put to good use; printer paper, pens, clipboards and of course, the fuel that will keep campaign staff running, food and drinks.  Contact us to find out what you can send where.  Every bit counts!
